Housing Navigator
This is a full time temporary position.
Individual needed to assist veterans in searching for permanent housing, linking them to social services and ensuring coordination with local caseworkers from Veterans Administration, Volunteers of America and other service providers. The Housing Navigator is responsible for facilitating educational recruitment fairs to encourage landlord participation and assists clients with transportation in order to view available housing. This position serves as a liaison between clients and service agencies, supporting intensive case management services to assist veterans and their families to avoid or transition out of homelessness.

The ability to maintain confidentiality and deal tactfully with the public while handling personal and financial information of clients required. Promotes and facilitates meetings that include clients, service providers and landlords. Conducts regular home or office visits with participating veterans to ensure they are reaching their goals. Plans, coordinates and tracks program activities for periodic reporting purposes.

Bachelor’s degree in social work preferred with at least 3 years proven related practical experience. A combination of education, training and work experience may be considered. Salary $38,000.00. Housing Choice Voucher Specialist
Position opening for an independent, organized and customer service oriented individual who will work to certify new and existing clients in busy local housing program. The ideal candidate will possess analytical and moderately complex clerical skills. Responsible for providing support to management and other staff members. The ability to work effectively with the public and landlords in determining eligibility for programs is required. Candidate should have a proven record of dealing courteously and tactfully with many kinds of people. Experience in Microsoft Word and Excel is required. A knowledge of, or ability to learn assisted housing programs is preferred. High school diploma required, with bachelor’s degree in business, or related field plus two years interviewing experience in position with a public agency preferred. Beginning salary is $32,000.00 with an excellent benefits package.
