Self-sufficiency units are scattered throughout Lexington in small communities and are either duplex or single-family dwellings. In addition to the general requirements for all programs, this program requires that the head-of-household or spouse work at least 371/2 hours a week. A single head-of-household, enrolled as a full-time student in an accredited college, university or vocational school, is also eligible. The work requirement may be waived for single heads of household enrolled in an accredited college, university or vocational school.  Families eligible for this housing must have an excellent or above average housekeeping record and must be in compliance with the material provisions of the lease. Lexington Housing Authority office hours are Monday - Friday 8:00A.M. - 4:30P.M. The central office offers extended service to 6:00P.M. on Wednesdays for housing applications only.
