Management Specialist

Detail oriented person needed to determine initial and triennial eligibility for public housing program. Assists site manager with recording and reporting housing data. Performs housing inspections prior to, during and after unit occupancy. Must maintain confidentiality and deal tactfully with the public while handling personal and financial information of residents. High school diploma with two years high level clerical work, experience in Excel and Microsoft Word required. Experience in assisted housing programs a plus. We seek an organized individual with office experience for this full-time position. Beginning annual salary is $32,100.00, in addition to an excellent benefit package.

Accounting Manager

The Lexington Housing Authority (LHA) is seeking a versatile Accounting Manager to supervise financial and accounting functions, and the employees of the accounting department, under the supervision of the Chief Financial Officer (CFO). The manager will process payroll, manage all tax reporting, budgets, and handle reconciliation activities of the department, performing accounting functions in compliance with generally accepted accounting principles.


  • Ensures internal controls are in place to provide reasonable assurance agency assets are protected.

  • Coordinates annual financial audits in a timely manner, as well as any other audits as needed.

  • Monitors and analyzes departmental work closely to develop more efficient procedures and to maintain a high level of accuracy.

  • Maintains the general ledger structure.

  • Works with the CFO on financial projects as needed.

The individual should be able to demonstrate a work history of commitment, responsiveness, and effective communication. Knowledge in accounting concepts and procedures and the ability to use good judgement while managing detailed work will be required. Must possess strong computer skills with the ability to learn industry specific software. A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance and three years of progressively responsible accounting experience required, with at least two years of supervisory experience. A CPA license or a master’s degree in Accounting is a plus.

The salary range begins at $64,000, with an excellent benefits package including health, vision, dental and life insurance and retirement saving opportunities. Housing Choice Voucher Specialist

Position opening for an organized and customer service-oriented individual who will work to certify new and existing clients in busy local housing program. The ideal candidate will possess analytical and moderately complex clerical skills. Responsible for providing support to management and other staff members. The ability to work effectively with the public and landlords in determining eligibility for programs is required. Candidate should have a proven record of dealing courteously and tactfully with many kinds of people. Experience in Microsoft Word and Excel is required. A knowledge of, or ability to learn assisted housing programs is preferred. High school diploma required, with bachelor’s degree in business, or related field plus two years interviewing experience in position with a public agency preferred. Beginning salary is $32,100.00 with an excellent benefits package which includes paid individual health, vison, dental and life insurance. A pre-employment physical and drug screening may be required.

Office Specialist

Seeking individual who can prioritize work in a fast-paced environment while also performing administrative support; processing maintenance work orders, general office work as well as greeting clients at a housing management site. Assists staff members and manager in research on computer, reviewing applicant information, copying, faxing and preparing mailing materials. High school diploma with two years of clerical experience and past work with Excel and Microsoft Word required. Experience in a busy office environment working with the public in assisted housing programs a plus. We seek an organized individual for this full-time position. Beginning salary is $31,200.00 annually with an excellent benefit package which includes individual paid health, vision, dental and life insurance.

Maintenance Technician I

Routine custodial and grounds keeping maintenance positions open. Work includes cleaning vacant apartments and offices, moving furniture, and providing general labor. Applicants should have experience in methods and equipment used in custodial cleaning. Mowing, edging, trimming and raking will be required. Should have some experience in general maintenance of mowers, blowers and chain saws. The ability to follow oral and written instructions and perform moderately heavy manual work required. Should be able to show ability to maintain good working relationships with other employees, supervisors and tenants. Must possess a valid KY driver license. Beginning salary is $31,200.00 with an excellent benefits package including paid health, vision, dental and life insurance.
